It is time for Vivace! to fly away home. This quilt has been an amazing journey from start to finish. It practically designed itself as soon as I got a look at the fabric Benartex sent for my first 2023 Benartex Ambassador project. We caught some fantastic pictures at Albertson’s Park in Boise, Idaho. The contrast between the bright fabrics and starkly colored landscape is striking! It was impossible to take a bad shot.

Vivace!’s beautiful fabrics are from the Marbella and Needle Stars collections by Paula Nadelstern for Benartex. The instant I saw these fabrics I was certain they were designed just for me. Ideas were swirling in my mind the instant I saw them. Rather than fight all the bright colors, I decided there needed to be a color explosion. What better way to make this happen than a cacophony of flying geese!

Since there are so many moving parts in Vivace!, I used the amazing Flying Geese Tool by Creative Grids. This tool makes it possible to trim each piece to perfection giving a fighting chance to make square blocks.

The pattern for Vivace! was edited, by Kelli Marshall of Simply MacBeth Designs. The beautiful quilting is by Beth Godderidge. It is published both on this website, and at QuiltWoman.com.

I am sorry to see this project end because it has been a joy to create. I hope you find something unexpected and joyful in this design that makes your day brighter.

Great quilt! One of my favorites!
Thank you, my favorite husband. ❤️
