A Tangle Indeed

I am so excited to have finished my quilt, Color Tangles! As I worked on it there were many unexpected transformations from conception to completion. I am very happy with the end result. It started off as a quick project until I decided the border and binding needed some sparkle. As I said in my previous blog post, creativity is fluid. Plus, I am coming to the realization that I don’t have “quick and easy” in my quilt design DNA!

As I look at Color Tangles, I see the colors shifting from warm to cool and light to dark, much like the shifting seasons. Summer was shining in all its glory when I started this project. Then came the beauty of Autumn which turned to the bleakness of Winter. The bright colors of the fabrics in Color Tangles were a constant throughout the seasonal changes and they lifted my spirits in this year of Covid-19.

I hope you, too have found solace and comfort somewhere. I would love to hear about what you have done in this crazy year. Perhaps you used this time to learn a new skill that is out of your comfort zone. Or maybe you have polished up an old skill that has been on the back burner for years. Please feel free to post your accomplishments in comments. It would brighten my day to read about it.
