The beginning of something new is always exciting. I am excited to share my new webpage for Nancy Messuri Designs! The tree outside my quilting and design studio window is filled with green leaves, but it is waiting to inspire with its ever changing colors. The goldenness of autumn, the starkness of winter, the fresh new green of spring, and its continued growth with each passing year. I feel a bit like that tree. It is more a cycle than a beginning as it took many seasons of life to get this point. I can’t wait to see how my designs evolve!

My design inspiration comes from color, nature, marveling at other’s quilt designs, geometric patterns, and the thought of endless possibilities. Art evolves from what came before. We take the best from each other and find a way to make it better, fresher, and different. Have you had the experience of starting with a design idea that goes in a completely different direction from what you expected? This is what usually happens with me. I can’t stop asking myself, “What if…?” Two little words that can change the whole course of a design.
